Alt. Roleplaying: Trollhunters International
The year is 1980 and a doomed archaeological mission has opened up an ancient prison that held the last of the trolls. Now, trolls have spread across the planet, causing all sorts of trouble.
Player characters are trollhunters who get paid a bounty on each troll they collect. Live trolls are worth much more than dead ones, so using various traps is important. Not getting killed and/or eaten by a troll is much more important.
Character creation uses a ten sided die for the seven characteristics and percentile dice for skills. Character types include Scientist, Big Game Hunter, Cryptid Expert and several more. You start with 1d20 X 1,000 dollars for equipment, then buy more as you earn more money.
24 types of troll are covered in the basic rules. These range from the 3 foot tall Tropical Cannibal Troll to the 12 foot tall Fire Troll to the 90 foot tall Northern Mountain Troll. As if that weren’t enough to keep you busy, there are also some trolls who can infect humans and other animals with a mutagenic virus.
…they groan because oy, do they have troubles! Such troubles you shouldn’t know!

Alt. Roleplaying: Dungeons & Droids
In this roleplaying game, players take on the role of Star Wars style droids that are stranded on a world where magic works. They are often trapped in a dungeon or forest full of fantasy creatures and races. The brave little droids must use all of their wits to get to safety.
Character creation is based upon spending build points for the body style, upgrades and programming you want your droid to have. Upgrades can include anything from jump jets to a built in repair kit.
Droids cannot use magic, but some can use magical weapons. On the plus side, few monsters will try to eat a droid. On the minus side, those that do can cause very serious damage.
The advanced rules book has rules for humanoid type droids, many new upgrades and several new monsters, including magically created droid/monster hybrids.

Yes, I know, I suck at doing new posts here lately. I hang my head in shame and blame it on my sucky new work schedule.
HOWEVER, I have finally started my new storyblog here: https://doccross.wordpress.com/
Those of you who have read my DogCon/CatCon reports or my Facebook or Twitter posts OR the post on either of those sites by the Critter Avengers, will find the new stories familiar, yet different. It’s the tale told from a different reality starting in 2009.
So check it out. My current plan is to update it three times a week, Monday, Wednesday & Friday.
This blog may go on an official hiatus for a month or so as I build up a bunch of Doclopedia entries to post here. And yes, I WILL continue to post DogCon/CatCon reports, at least for a couple more years.
