Critter Avengers Choice: Silky: The Hairy Pupper Series

Let me start this out by saying that the Hairy Pupper series was written by a dog on DogEarth 1, so it will not be easy reading for other species. For one thing, detailed descriptions of sounds, smells and body language are everywhere and most will leave humans scratching their heads. Another problem is the mix of Doggish (with a British Terrier accent) and British Human English. It gives even many of us Non-Brit dogs pause.

Anyway, the series is otherwise very much like our HP series, except Hairy Pupper has no problem using spells more powerful than “Expelliarmus” in a duel. In fact, in the final battle with Voldebark, he slices off the evil bastard’s tail with a Sectumsempra curse, then blasted the Elder Wand out of his hand. Of course, Voldebark got it back and tried to Avada Kedavra Harry, but killed himself instead. Then Hairy poops on the spot where the Dark Lord died.

There is also some sex in the Hairy Pupper series, because dogs are not all squishy about it like humans are. The scenes between Hairy & Ginny are pretty hot.

I am a big fan of this series and the Harry Potter series and give both of them a waggy tail up.

Critter Avengers Choice: Flash: Perky Pussy Cat Food (Canned)

I’m not normally a fan of canned cat food. I prefer mine fresh made, such as my Mom’s excellent Tuna Gravy Over Couscous or Dad’s Shredded Chicken And Beans. Sometimes, though, a cat just has to eat what’s on hand. In those cases, it’s pretty hard to go wrong with Perky Pussy canned cat food. They use a couple of types of fish in it, it’s reasonably chunky and it’s extra stinky. Go for the Catfish & Mackerel or the Salmon & Perch.

Critter Avengers Choice: Sasha: “Cat Chasin’ Bitches” by Titanium Dog This is the latest CD on Barkly Records from Titanium Dog, the hard rocking supergroup that formed after T.C. Growler and LeeLee McCanus left the Beasty Bitches to join former Dawg Sabbath guitarist Poochie Dane & drummer Bytch DeTerrier. Damn, can these girls ever rock the house. The fourteen cuts on this disk are all hard charging heavy metal with a punkish streak, as you would expect from Growler & McCanus, who wrote all of them. The bitch perspective is full on here, so I can see how some males might not like it, especially tracks like “Neuter Boy” or “Is That All Ya Got?” Me, I love the whole damned CD and I’ve been cranking it up while I’m down in the garage working. If you are any kind of a metalhead bitch, buy this or download it from dTunes.

Critter Avengers Choice: Lulu: The Pacific Crest Trail

So, even those of us who are no longer organic sometimes need the peace, quiet and beauty of the great outdoors. If you can do it (and you CAN do at least part of it) I suggest that you hike the Pacific Crest Trail. Now, please understand that I mostly run it at high speed (around 150 mph) because I’m not allowed out much due to certain previous unfortunate events. Still, I do stop every so often and take in Mother Nature or wrestle a bear or shoot down a pursuing black helicopter. There are about a zillion great views along the trail. I have run the PCT three times, twice from the Mexican border north and once from the Canadian border south. I’ve run it in Summer, Fall and the dead of Winter. Not nearly as interesting in the winter, unless you’re watching the flames from a black helicopter reflect off the snow. Get out there and give the Pacific Crest Trail a try, meat units. You’ll enjoy it.

Critter Avengers Choice: Daisy: The Adventures Of Doc Savage

On Earth 3B, this animated series (which alternates with “The Shadow” every 6 episodes) has been running for 15 years and gets high ratings. The visual style is very like the “Batman: The Animated Series” of our world, but more colorful. The voice acting is great, although none of the actors are known on our world.

About half of the stories told so far (of the 18 total 90 minute episodes per season) have been taken from the original Doc Savage stories (of which that world had 260) with the rest being completely new. The new stories have told about Doc or a member of the Fantastic Five as young folks, Doc & Co. in the 1950’s & 60’s and even a few with Doc in famous fictional lands (Pellucidar, Atlantis, Gotham City).

There have been episodes co-starring The Shadow, Batman, Sherlock Holmes, The Phantom and even a teenage James Bond. The 15th anniversary episode even featured a guy who looked and sounded a whole lot like the 16th Doctor, although they never called him that.

I’m pretty sure all of you geeks out there would love this show.

(Note: On Earth 3B, they are up to the 18th Doctor on Doctor Who)

Critter Avengers Choice: Jasmine: Lagos Feline Resort, Lagos, Portugal

This is where my husband and I spent our honeymoon. It’s located on CatEarth 4C, where humans still worship cats as deities in the year 1962. Being as we are both Dwarf Portuguese Jungle Cats, going to Portugal seemed the right thing to do.

The resort is all that a cat could ask for, once you finally leave your room:) There are fine beaches, gourmet food (the Clams & Mice was to die for!), excellent drinks and all sorts of things to do. The human staff is top notch and they wait on you paw & paw. And did I mention that the litter boxes use a wonderfully scented litter?

We were there for a week, then spent another week just touring the country. I absolutely recommend this resort to any cats that can get there.
