The Mystical, Yet Rather Screwball Comedic, Story Of Mostly Purple Patty And The Portuguese Prince

…co-starring her new boyfriend, Swanky McDuff

Ok, it’s official: Facebook is devouring the time I used to spend here. February saw only 6 posts by me. My shame is great.

Anyway, in Doc news, we have…

1: I’m about to start up a Pirate series for my regular RPG group. Still undecided as to what rules we’ll use, although Basic Roleplaying is the front runner just now. It’s pretty much a sandbox game, since despite the HUGE ocean area being full of islands and continents, almost nothing is detailed. I was gonna start the game up in the middle of March, but am now looking at mid to late April because…

2:…two of my players are getting MARRIED! Congratulations to Samantha & Paul! This has never happened in a gaming group of mine before, although I have had two already married players have a baby (not during a game session) and a couple of players hook up for sex.

3: Grace & I are still neck deep in our Adventure In Poverty and now we have no working car! Said auto, which we have had for 9 years and have put nearly 160,000 miles on, stopped working and demanded a valve job. So now, our beloved Honda CRV has a motor in pieces in our garage until my brother finishes the repairs.

4: Work on the e-zine has slowed way down since I am working nights and fighting off bill collectors all day.

Hopefully, more bloggage later.

The Heartstopping Adventures Of Doctor Tempest In The City Of The Vampires

Imaginary Gaming Convention News

So, one week from today is the start of the very real GenCon, which I will be missing because Grace and I cannot afford to miss a beat on our descent into poverty (although we will have a house to live in while we are impoverished).

Next Thursday will also be the start of the wholly not real, but no less fun because of that, CatCon2, which we will be attending with our dogs and our ace dogsitter, Sharon.

So, in the wee hours of Saturday morning, we shall climb into our brand new imaginary converted school bus, aka “The Magic Bus”, and head out for beautiful Wilted Springs, Texas and the con.

As I’ve said before, all of you who will miss GenCon are welcome to do your own CatCon2 reports. And those of you who are attending GenCon should visit this LJ for some choice quality faux con reportage and maybe a laugh or two.

Also, GenConners, if you already have my home phone number, give me a call on Saturday or Sunday from the con. After about 3 pm PST either day will probably be best.

Now, it be workin’ time for me.

Doc Tempest VS The Nova Mob

…from the July, 1969 issue

Well, I was actually able to run my arena battle game at ConQuest Sac on Saturday. There were only 4 players…and two of them were Sam and Paul from my regular gaming group…but it still went well.

Even better, on Saturday night I finally got a really good nights sleep, so I’m feeling pretty good.

Alas, unless I fall into a pit of money, I won’t be going to any more cons this year.

Gotta go now. More blogging later.

The Rather Scandalous Tale Of Mostly Purple Patty And The Old Man Who Lived In A Tree

…co-starring her pet codfish, Emerson

A rainy day here in Sacramento…wife abandoned me and the hounds to use the college computer lab…watched an old Doctor Who episode from Netflix (“Black Orchid”, with Peter Davison as The Doctor)…read three more Jeeves stories…puttered about the house in a househusbandly manner…cooked a totally delicious dinner…ate said dinner with the spouse upon her return…watched the two hour premiere of “Legend of the Seeker” and cringed all the way through it…goofed off.

Daisy is doing much better today. She’s eating well and pretty active. Her blood test results came back and the vet said that they all looked good, except for a low protein level that was most likely from not eating well due to being sick.

Not sure what’s shakin’ for tomorrow, but considering our impoverished state of affairs, I’m guessing it won’t involve spending much money.
